Ori Gersht: the art of flower detonation

In Time After Time, Israeli artist Ori Gersht explodes elaborate floral bouquets, frozen in liquid nitrogen at the moment of detonation. The artist explores the theme of optical perception, combining a traditional starting point – the photographs are inspired by the still lifes of 19th century artist Fantin-Latour – with advanced digital image capture.
